The aim of the procedure is to remove prostatic hyperplasia, improve the patient's quality of life.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, patient doesn't feel anything from waist down. Prostate resection is performed with the help of an endoscope - a resectoscope with a cutting loop, inserted through the urethra into the prostate gland. The view from the camera allows the doctor to remove lobes of the changed prostate and close the operated sites and vessels. The cut tissue sections are then sent for histopathological examination.
